American Airlines is trying to make flying a little easier for the holidays. The company is trying a new way of electronically distributing boarding passes on traveler's phones.
The service is available now for passengers departing on domestic flights from Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport. Passengers will be able to use these two-dimensional barcode boarding passes instead of the normal paper boarding pass. Microsoft has finally issued a patch for Windows Mobile 6.1 devices that corrects a serious email bug. The patch fixes a bug where email cannot be sent because the outgoing server is inaccessible. Most people using Windows Mobile 6.1 have experienced this problem.

IE Mobile 6 is on the way, but not for existing Windows Mobile phones. The Windows Mobile team has confirmed that IE Mobile 6 will not be made available as a separate download for current Windows Mobile 6.1 smartphones. The new browser apparently needs more horsepower that will be provided by new phones released at the end of the year and into 2009.

Palm has posted an update for the Treo Pro smartphone today. The unlocked Treo Pro Bluetooth patch fixes a bug found in the Treo Pro while using a Bluetooth headset.
"If you are in an active call using bluetooth car kit or bluetooth headset and you receive a second incoming call and you let it ring or you ignore the incoming call, the call will be diverted to Voicemail. In a recent earnings call, Motorola CEO Sanjay Jha made multiple references to Windows Mobile 6.5. Jha said that Motorola planning to release a handset running Windows Mobile 6.5 in the second half of 2009. What? We were waiting for Windows Mobile 7.
Jha also said the company would open an office in Seattle so it could work closely with Microsoft.

Forget the basic Caller ID on your mobile. Now comes an add-on for Android that adds Caller ID from WhitePages. It enables location detection so you know where the person is calling from.

According to the New York Times, a group of security researchers have found what they call a "serious flaw" in the Android software that runs T-Mobile's G1 Google phone.

It looks like the T-Mobile G1 is about to get some serious exposure. According to engadget the G1 is heading to Walmart. The top ten Walmarts in each market will apparently receive the T-Mobile G1 on the 24th of November. The best part is that they are supposed to sell for $148.88 on a two-year contract. On November 1, 2008 the free Windows Mobile 6.0 update for the AT&T Treo 750 will expire. Treo 750s purchased after December 2007 shipped with Windows Mobile 6.0 so no update is required. If you have an older Treo 750 however, you'll need to update to WM 6.0 by November 1 or you'll be out of luck.
The free upgrade 3.5G HSDPA capabilities, and provides access to several AT&T Multimedia services like: AT&T Music, CV (Video), and AT&T Mall.

Those of you who pre-ordered the T-Mobile G1 probably have it in your hands by now. Our friend Mattias got his and he gave us his impressions. He says the OS is fast.
"I like the interface better than the iPhone. It's not as intuitive as the iPhone, but it has a lot more options and features (especially if you are a Gmail user).

The Motorola RAZR is outselling the iPhone and according to AdMob, more people use the RAZR to access the mobile web. AdMob publishes a monthly report of the ad impressions it gets from each handset across the 5,000-plus sites it serves. They say the RAZR is requesting most of the impressions on the mobile web.
